Do Chinese People Get English Tattoos?

So, since Chinese symbol tattoos are so popular in the western world, Do people in China get English tattoos? I think this is a question many people would be interested.

The answer is yes. They do like English tattoos and a lot of them get English tattoos. But you will not see too many in China.

I think it is a universally acknowledged truth that people are always curious about if not fascinated by foreign culture and languages. So, in our eyes, culture and language other than our own become exotic. Though English may not be as impressive and mysterious as Chinese in terms of history, writing, to Chinese people, English is still exotic and can make their tattoo unique. That is why Chinese people are getting English tattoos.

Despite the fact that tattoos in China have been around for nearly a millennium, under recent decades of Communist Party rule, tattoos have been largely a taboo. Soldiers and police officers must be ink-free.And, generally, in China, and it is also true in other eastern Asian countries like South Korea and Japan, people with tattoos are associated with gangsters and bad guys.

So that is why you will not see too many Chinese with tattoos, let alone English tattoos.

But recently years seems to see a comeback of tattoos in China. Especially among higher-educated people, like college students, doctors, white-collars etc.
